Didn't have high hopes honestly but Wheatbaker surprised me when I came through last month. I was in Maiduguri for a job and my boss booked me a room there instead of the usual places I stay and abeg the whole setup was clean and proper organized. The room itself was really nice, good bed, cold AC, everything worked and the staff didn't give me any problems when I checked in or out. For a place like that in Maiduguri it's worth the money if you ask me, way better than struggling in those other hotels.
Not my usual kind of place but my boy kept saying Wheatbaker was worth the trip from Calabar so I finally agreed. The rooms are honestly set up well and everything felt clean and organized, but what really got me was how the staff member at the front desk remembered my name when I was leaving the next morning. For a place charging that kind of money sha I expected it but still impressed me sef.
My partner insisted we try this place and I wasn't enthusiastic but came anyway and I'm glad we did. The rooms are actually beautiful and clean, and what really got me was how the staff at reception remembered we were first-timers and made sure someone explained everything without making us feel rushed. For someone like me who sells food on the streets, seeing how they run their operation with that kind of attention to detail was sha something else. Not cheap at all but you understand why when you get there.
